This exciting new technology allows any three dimensional object to be printed in full colour quickly and inexpensively.
It only takes a few simple steps to create perfectly coloured objects:
- Create your image on a computer. This could be a photograph, drawing, text or random pattern.
- Print your image from your computer onto Pictaflex film, using a suitable inkjet printer loaded with Pictaflex inks.
- If necessary, apply a clear lacquer coating to the part to be printed and cure in a warm oven. Certain materials (eg PBT, PC plastic), can be printed directly. Other materials, (eg ceramics, glass, ABS) plastic, will need to be lacquered before printing.
- Load the part to be printed into the Pictaflex press, along with the printed Pictaflex film.
- The machine runs through an automatic cycle, wrapping the film around the part and transferring the pattern using dye diffusion technology.
- Once the cycle has finished, the part can be unloaded and used straight away.
